What do the numbers in Arabizi mean?
Each number stands for an Arabic letter with no Latin equivalent, chosen for its shape: 3 is ع, 7 is ح, 5 is خ, 2 is ء, 9 is ق. Some people also use 6 for ط and 8 for ق.
Is Arabizi wrong?
No. It's how a lot of Arabic gets typed every day. But it only works between people who already speak Arabic, and it won't help you read anything printed.
